In addition, they prefer undisturbed and &#8220;quiet&#8221; places like attics, closets, and storage rooms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>See below for useful tips that will help us inspect our space for the possible presence of rodents inside houses, cottages, sheds, and basements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Checklist<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Feces \u2013 a mouse infestation is often accompanied by feces (often resembling a thin, long, dashed line).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong, strange odors \u2013 attics, basements and storage areas have distinct odors. Mice have poor eyesight, but they use their urine to \u201cmark\u201d their territory and navigate new environments. The urine they leave behind has an ammonia-like odor.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gnaw marks \u2013 rodents\u2019 teeth never stop growing, so they constantly gnaw to keep them at a certain size. Gnaw marks can be found in the form of shavings on or around baseboards, doors or cardboard storage boxes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tracks \u2013 mice have poor eyesight and will \u201chug\u201d various spots on walls as they move around.
